This garden is located in Bad Dürkheim, a lovely town along the famous German Wine Route. The region is known for its mild climate, the almond blossom and of course it’s numerous vineyards. In the garden design we used the typical dry stone walls from the vineyards to create three different plateaus. Small stairs lead from one terrace to the other. The garden has a symmetrical layout. Beds of lavender and santolina create all year interest. Local sandstone was used for the paving slabs, steps and walls. The pleasant sound of the water feature creates atmosphere. A sandstone sculpture, made by a local artist, marks the endpoint of the garden’s main axis.
